‘The Antilibrarian Project’

Drawing on the digital humanities and cultural informatics training I received at Jadavpur University’s School of Cultural Texts and Records, I created ‘The Antilibrarian Project’ on Instagram, which now has more than 20k+ followers. Here, I regularly write book reviews and create reels promoting local bookstores, BIPOC authors, World Literature, and Literature in translations to showcase voices and perspectives of culturally diverse aesthetic traditions and literary trends. The Antilibrarian Project is a part of my more significant Digital Humanities Project that aims to study market trends of publishing houses, social media algorithms, demographic reading practices, generic curricula & syllabi influences, and the shifting perception of ‘Literature’ in the age of social media. I wish to expand the project into a podcast with invited guest speakers who will talk about literature and art cultures from the Global South and South Asia.
